Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19 1965. She is an American actress and producer. She is most famous for her character as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was honored with the Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The series ended following its seventh season. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance in Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), an educator and speech therapy therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, the venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian as well as of English origin. Sedgwick has announced that she's Jewish and participates in Passover meal times.
